Castles in the Air

I know we've been doing reconfigurations ever since all the recent staff changes, but it's still disorienting. I went away for just the weekend, and came back to find the department all rearranged. It's like everything is in a completely different place, even though it's almost all the same stuff. Thank goodness my office wasn't part of the change up, although it's still mostly the same as when it used to be Director Macintosh's. I should really put up a painting or something to make it more my own since I spend so much time here.

[Agency Directors and Department Heads]

Okay, which one of you wants to tell me why I just got a call from the Governor of New Jersey?

I was going to go on holiday, I really was.

Agency Security Announcement

Please stop calling our main reception. They don't know anything you don't know, I promise. They're just trying to do their jobs and don't deserve your abuse.

We've set up a hotline for people with questions, missing persons, or tips. [Phone Number Here] We'll get out any relevant news as soon as we can.

Thank you.

Dark Days

To The Thawing Wind

Come with rain. O loud Southwester! Bring the singer, bring the nester; Give the buried flower a dream; make the settled snowbank steam; Find the brown beneath the white; But whate'er you do tonight, bath my window, make it flow, Melt it as the ice will go; Melt the glass and leave the sticks Like a hermit's crucifix; Burst into my narrow stall; Swing the picture on the wall; Run the rattling pages o'er; Scatter poems on the floor; Turn the poet out of door.

Robert Frost
Technically, I suppose it is spring, although it does not feel like it yet. I find myself craving the warmer weather fiercely. I am ready for sun, for longer days, for walks in the park, and for change. Everything feels so stagnant at the end of winter, as at the end of anything. Perhaps I cannot blame the weather though. It could just be that I need to get out of the office more.

Agency Announcement

Sheisse. Sheisse.

I'm sure many of you have already heard about the tragic events in Berlin last evening. Terrorist bombers destroyed Brandenburger Tor in a series of six explosions, killing hundreds of innocent people and injuring many more. They and their families are all in our thoughts.

The German government believes reincarnates were involved in the attack and have gone so far as to blame the reincarnate community. In the interest of security, all MTN travel to Germany is being restricted from this point forward, until further notice. We will be joining the German authorities and Interpol in their investigations. Please, please come forward if you have any information at all. Solving this quickly is not simply about justice for all of the victims, it may well be key to maintaining relations with the non-reincarnate community.

Domestic Experiences

It is so nice to finally be home for the weekend and have a couple days out of the office. It is almost tempting not to go back on Monday.

Consequences

The Agency appreciates all the help and support we get from the public. That being said, if we get one more prank call or false report this week in the Security Department, I will personally go out and kick someone's ass. Thank you.

Confidential

Attention dare warriors:

- My office is directly next to Director Macintosh's.

- I can sometimes be bribed with chocolate.

Make of these facts what you will.

Literary Lessons

For each new morning with its light,
For rest and shelter of the night,
For health and food,
For love and friends,
For everything Thy goodness sends.

Ralph Waldo Emerson (1803-1882)

Being only half-American, and having spent very little time there, I have never been too concerned with Thanksgiving. Dear Jo, on the other hand, is extremely fond of it. I can see why she feels that way. It is a very positive day, focusing on family, fellowship, and counting one's blessings. It does make us both miss our families dreadfully though.

Being Neighborly

Sometimes I really do love my job. Especially when I get to travel back to cities I love. Yes, I was busy working the whole time, but it was a lovely day to be in Berlin.

I won't say anything about politics, nor about communism, socialism, capitalism or any other -ism you have. The politics of the Agency are quite complex enough for me. I don't mind saying that today was a good day though, becuase I have no problem being against large, inconvenient, and oppressive walls.

Now if only we could all knock down die Mauer im Kopf.

[Screened to Agency Security Staff and Directors]

The investigation of the break-in is continuing, as well as our other cases which include two high priority murder investigations.

In light of our new responsibilities and powers, I believe we should look at being more aggressive about bringing people in for questioning.

Thoughts?

Playing Pilgrims

Hallo, everyone. They are encouraging us to get more involved with the community, so I thought I should introduce myself.

My name is Nina Kohl and I'm the reincarnation of one Jo March. While I am from Düsseldorf and Jo is from Concord, somehow we find ourselves living in London. Life does tend to take strange turns like that, doesn't it?

I work with the Agency as the Deputy Director of Security. It's been quite busy around here, as I'm sure you could all guess. I know I have met several of you through the Agency Headquarters, and even before that from when I worked in the Berlin office. I'm looking forward to getting to know many new people as well though. We keep very busy, but we're never to busy to help anyone in need of assistance. After all, that is what we are here for.
